The Map view will populate Pages on a map based on the location field of the page. The map view could potentially be a function of the list view. This could be useful for neighborhoods or any other community with a geographic orientation.
Different map views will be possible. Page titles, in all of their states (including icon only) or dots.
Where could maps show up?
Search - query results, general exploration especially of "nearby" (click current location icon)
User - show all pages by User on the map
Category - show all pages in Category on the map
Community - show all pages
Map objects
Only Pages will be shown.
The following are NOT shown on the map: Users, Communities, Categories.
If a User or Community wishes to lay claim to the map, they can create a Page for this express purpose. But to protect the privacy of users, Users will have to go out of their way to achieve this.
Current location
Current location will NOT BE SHOWN ON THE USER'S PAGE. Current location will not be requested unless user taps on the current location button. This calculation can probably be done locally on-device to preserve user privacy.
