The Republic of Letters was a long-distance intellectual community in the late 17th and 18th centuries in Europe and the Americas which fostered communication among the intellectuals of the Age of Enlightenment.
WeWrite hopes to facilitate the re-emergence of such phenomena, whereby thinkers can collaborate on generating new insights and philosophies.
Communities could form around certain ideas, and trusted contributors could be given permission to skip moderation to increase the rate of the flow of information.
Using the map functionality and the network analysis functionality, we could generate diagrams like this showing how ideas connect to one another from a geographical perspective.
